Abyssinian Flight Services has received a certificate of recognition from the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) for its contribution to the national response to the Marburg virus outbreak in Ethiopia.
The award was presented during an official ceremony attended by Members of Parliament, regional presidents, representatives of partner organizations, and other key stakeholders. The national response effort was mobilized between November 14, 2025 and January 26, 2026, bringing together government institutions and partners to contain the outbreak.
Abyssinian Flight Services played a critical logistical role during the emergency response. The company facilitated the transportation of H.E. Dr. Mekdes Daba, Minister of Health, senior officials from the Ministry of Health and the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, as well as high-ranking officials from the South Ethiopia Regional State, to the epidemic-affected town of Jinka.
Demonstrating its commitment to public service during times of national need, Abyssinian provided one of its flights completely free of charge in support of the response mission.
We at Abyssinian Flight Services were delighted to hear the Ministry of Health’s announcement on January 26, 2026, confirming Ethiopia’s successful containment of the Marburg virus disease. We take this opportunity to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to serving communities wherever and whenever needed.
